Didi Hamann is positive that Ozan Kabak will be a good signing for Liverpool. The ex-Red sees an immediate new benefit.
Who better to know about the leap from Germany to England than Didi Hamann? He played four seasons with Bayern Munich before moving to the Premier League, winning just about everything at club level over the course of his career.
So when Hamann sees positive signs in Ozan Kabak, we take notice.
The 20-year-old joined Liverpool on deadline day, of course, with Liverpool completing a £1.5m loan deal. They do have the option to make it permanent for around £18m, too.
And while we haven’t yet seen Kabak, Hamann believe he’s a good signing.

“[Kabak] is a physical player, loves to wrestle and the English league will suit him better than the Bundesliga,” he told the Daily Mail.
“He’s very capable, I like him. He can be a bit rash but he is good enough to step up even though he’s young.”
What RTK has to say
There isn’t too much difference stylistically between the Bundesliga and Premier League, relatively speaking. You’ll see larger margins between Serie A and the Premier League, for instance.
But that doesn’t mean the transition is easy. In fact, it’s looked quite difficult in recent years.
Naby Keita still hasn’t adjusted to things at Liverpool. Timo Werner and Kai Havertz – two players who shone brightly in Germany – are really struggling this season after signing for Chelsea.
So it’s encouraging to hear that Kabak should transition across easily. That’s exactly what Liverpool need, really – someone who can jump right in and feel comfortable.
Hopefully, Hamann is right, then. Kabak can be a confident, well-suited defender and if he is that, the £1.5m loan fee will be an absolute bargain.
