Liverpool want to sign Raphinha from Leeds United, according to reports. The Reds must believe he’s perfect for them.
Liverpool may be looking at Raphinha, just a few months after the Brazilian joined Leeds United. And that, to us, suggests they think he’s a potential star.
Leeds paid around £17m to sign Raphinha from Rennes ahead of this season. He’s quickly become a very exciting player for them, too, scoring four goals and grabbing four assists.
Everyone who’s seen him would sign him – if they had the money.
Given Leeds paid £17m just a few months ago, any fee would surely be very high. Especially as they shouldn’t worry about relegation and should consolidate themselves as a top-flight team again.

They have no real reason to sell, then.
Liverpool will know that, of course. Yet JuveLive – a subsidiary of CalcioMercato.com – believes the Reds want Raphinha.
Liverpool would have to think he’s perfect for that report to be true. That’s the only time they spend large amount of money.
They broke transfer records for Virgil van Dijk and Alisson, two players who they believed were exactly what was needed. And they were right, of course.
The two slotted in and immediately performed to elite standards.
But no other transfers come close to those record-breaking figures. Everyone else came in with potential, rather than perfection.
Raphinha would almost certainly cost a fortune, though, and put himself in that top bracket. So we can only see Liverpool paying it if they feel he’s perfect for their right-flank.
Maybe they do. But it would be a surprising take after just one season in the Premier League. And that’s before we consider how he’d get in the team over Mohamed Salah.
We won’t hold our breath on this one, then. Perhaps Liverpool see him as the perfect signing and pay a fortune. But we’ll believe it when it happens.
