Liverpool have endured some transfer sagas in their time. One of the most recent ended the way Kopites wanted with Thiago arriving from Bayern Munich. There’s another saga which has been rumbling on for a couple of years. Djibril Cisse has backed Liverpool to sign Kylian Mbappe this summer.
Remember Djibril Cisse?
Liverpool signed Djibril Cisse from Auxerre for £14m back in 2004.
The Frenchman had netted a silly amount of goals in France and promised to do the same in the Premier League.
Unfortunately the striker endured a series of horror injuries which ruined his time at Anfield.
The worst incident saw the forward’s leg snapped in a freak accident at Blackburn Rovers.

Eventually the striker returned to France with Marseille, joining on loan in 2006 before the move was made permanent in 2007.
Cisse on Liverpool and Kylian Mbappe
In a recent interview with The Mail, Djibril Cisse has opened up on his hopes for the Reds.
The former Anfield striker has backed Liverpool to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer, saying:
“To be honest I spoke to a few journalists, we were talking about Kylian Mbappe, because he’s the best in the world at the moment.
“And [for] me, I see him in Liverpool, big time.
“It’s a lot of money. A big, massive investment but I think that the boy is worth it and I see him there.
“He would be the one. I don’t know what Liverpool can do in terms of investment but it would be a big move for a key player. I want to dream, and I want to see him there.”
What RTK has to say
The BBC believes that Mbappe’s price tag sits around £166m.
Liverpool signing Kylian Mbappe would likely mean having to move on one of the current front three.
However, that would be far from a disaster. The Reds need to evolve, bringing in one of the best striker’s in the world with a decade ahead of him would be a dream move.
Hopefully Djibril Cisse gets his wish this summer.
