Often, Liverpool line-ups are difficult to predict. This is one of those rare occasions where it seems like Jurgen Klopp cannot afford to take too many risks with his team selection.
With that said, we expect Alisson Becker to come back in for Caoimhin Kelleher. Fabinho, too, could make a return to the back-four with Jordan Henderson alongside the Brazilian.
The rest of the backline picks itself, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson occupying their usual full-back roles.
Getting the balance right
Klopp could be tempted to start Curtis Jones against the league leaders, but we think the boss will opt for experience on this particular occasion.
And as a result, Liverpool could go with the seasoned midfield triumvirate of James Milner, Thiago Alcantara and Gini Wijnaldum. It worked wonders against West Ham and Tottenham, after all.

The combative trio will be up for the battle ahead and their tactical nous could be vital if Liverpool are to find a way past a Manchester City team that has conceded just two goals in 13 league games.
Sadio Mane will also return to the attacking line-up having missed both matches against West Ham and Brighton.
Don’t expect Diogo Jota to be back in time either. Although the Portuguese ace was spotted at the club’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, Klopp said he is still a ‘few weeks’ away from a return to action.
