Liverpool have been in torrid form in the past month or so. The Reds put together back to back wins in London but their Anfield form is still terrible. Jürgen Klopp’s men fell to another home defeat this week. Despite the poor performance, Jordan Henderson was excellent against Brighton.
Liverpool beaten again
The Reds have been in a sticky patch for a while now.
Since the 7-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace just before Christmas we’ve failed to win three in a row.
In that time we’ve seen a run of four games without a goal.
There has also been five games without a win and back to back home defeats.

This week Brighton came to Anfield with a blueprint: sit back, defend for your life and nick a goal on the break against a makeshift defence.
The Seagulls did just that. They scuffed one in and the game may as well have been over then.
Jordan Henderson against Brighton
There weren’t many positives to take out of the game.
The Reds had to once again lineup with a makeshift back four.
Jordan Henderson started at centre back against Brighton, alongside Nat Phillips.
The captain was brilliant at the back yet again.
He made four interceptions and three clearances, along with 112 passes. He earned a WhoScored rating of 7.16.
Need to move
Despite how strongly he’s been performing at the back we need to move Hendo back into the midfield where he belongs.
The skipper’s presence in the middle is sorely missed.
He doesn’t let the opposition out of their defensive third, he drives the team forward.
The skipper also allows greater freedom for the full backs with his instinctive positioning as they maraud down the wings.
He’s a special player, we just need him back in his proper position.
