Gary Neville believes there are two world-class players at Liverpool. It’s a tag he says he doesn’t like to give out easily.
There are two world-class players available to Liverpool, according to Gary Neville. He doesn’t believe there are all that many in the Premier League, in fact.
He named just three on his Sky Sports podcast.
“We very rarely give the tag of world-class, and we do have some world-class performers in the Premier League,” said Neville.
“There’s Kevin De Bruyne and I think Alisson is a world-class goalkeeper, but [Mohamed] Salah is a world-class forward and striker.”

This comes after Salah scored a brace to sink West Ham United at the weekend. And it was the Egyptian’s second goal that really caught Neville’s eye.
“That first touch and second touch was something different,” he said. “It was an unbelievable goal.
“One of the best goals I have seen, certainly this season.”
What RTK has to say
Well, we’d throw Sadio Mane in there, too, and Thiago when he’s at his best. Fabinho, arguably, is the best defensive midfielder around.
And, of course, Virgil van Dijk when he’s not crippled by injury.
But right now, on everyone’s form, we’d agree with Neville. Mane isn’t having his best season, Thiago is still adapting, and Van Dijk is missing.
Salah is having a fantastic season, though – he’s the Premier League’s top scorer, after all. And we’ve seen Alisson make important contributions in the last few weeks.
Both are playing near the top of their game and probably are the two world-class players at Liverpool right now.
Hopefully, by the end of the season, we can add a couple more to that. Players are coming back and for the first time in months, the squad looks solid.
A bit of consistency and we’re sure the likes of Mane, Thiago and Fabinho will get back to their best.
