Liverpool are always looking to build for the future. We have seen a number of exciting youngsters signed in recent years as the club looks to bring in potential superstars rather than buy them readymade. According to The Times, Liverpool are tracking Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa.
Liverpool youth drive
In recent windows the Reds have snapped up some exciting young talents.
Harvey Elliott and Sepp van den Berg were signed in the summer of 2019.
Since then we’ve also seen the arrival of Germany youth captain Melkamu Frauendorf.
Last summer saw the signing of Brazil youth star Marcelo Pitaluga.
Just before the New Year deals were tied up for Calum Scanlon and Stefan Bajcetic.
These deals will represent great value in the long term, even if only a handful make it then we’ve saved plenty of money.
Liverpool tracking Chukwuemeka
It looks as though the Reds are at it again.
According to The Times, Liverpool are tracking Carney Chukwuemeka.
The 17-year-old midfielder is one of the brightest stars of Aston Villa’s impressive U23s side.
Villa Chief Executive Christian Purslow sung the youngster’s praises, the Birmingham Mail quote him as saying:
“We have one right now, probably the best 16-year-old in England, Carney (Chukwuemeka). Absolutely no debate, he’s starting for the U23s.”
The youngster was unlucky not to face the Reds in the FA Cup; his progress has been such that he has been training with the first team, meaning he had to isolate during the outbreak.

We can’t say we know a lot about reported Liverpool target Carney Chukwuemeka.
All we know is that he has talent and is well thought of in the academy game.
There is also the consideration that Manchester United are credited with interest.
Hopefully the Reds get in there quick if they’re going to get this one done, they appear to have been in the mood for decisive academy deals lately.
