Ozan Kabak won himself a Bundesliga award just six months into his career there. It’s something that bodes very well for Liverpool.
Ozan Kabak is an award winning footballer. In fact, he’s had a remarkably busy career despite being just 20.
He made his professional debut for Galatasary back in May 2018 and kept his place into the following season. But he didn’t stay there long.
Stuttgart signed him in January 2019, just half a season into his senior career.
Only, Stuttgart got relegated that season and Kabak was off again. Schalke signed him the following summer and got 18 months out of him.

That’s because Kabak joined Liverpool on loan yesterday – his fourth club already.
In fact, Kabak has only played one season in its entirety for the same club and that was last year. Other than that, he’s always moved somewhere new mid-season.
But we want to focus on one mid-season transfer – his move to Stuttgart. Because Kabak pulled off something very impressive in his six months there.
Kabak won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Year that season. That’s despite playing just half the season and doing it for a relegated side.
That’s quite remarkable and it’s also a wonderful sign for Liverpool.
Kabak has six months at Liverpool guaranteed – the rest depends on the Reds using their option to buy. But the important thing is that he’s here for this season.
Liverpool are without first-team options at the back, of course, and Kabak is here to provide them. He needs to come in and help the team challenge for honours.
That’s difficult, given he has to learn a new style of play and adjust to his teammates. So the fact he’s jumped into a club before and shone is a great sign.
It suggests Kabak shouldn’t have much trouble pulling this off. He’s done it before and, hopefully, he can shine once again.
