Liverpool have been linked with dozens of players in the past few months. The Reds have been ravaged by injuries and need reinforcements as a result. This season many of the linked players have been centre backs. Liverpool signing reported target Declan Rice would kill two birds with one stone.

Liverpool injury woes
The Reds have lost all of their centre backs to injury at one time or another this season.
Jürgen Klopp saw Virgil van Dijk ruled out for the season in October.
Joe Gomez was sidelined shortly after, also with a serious knee injury.
Joel Matip has been in and out of the team since due to his own persistent fitness issues.
As a result fans and journalists alike have been urging the Reds to buy a centre back in the January window but it looks as though the side will wait until the summer.
Liverpool interest in Declan Rice
There have been plenty of links between the Reds and defenders.
Dayot Upamecano has been one of the most frequently linked stars.
According to The Telegraph, Liverpool are potential suitors for Declan Rice.
West Ham allegedly want £80m for the 22-year-old England international.
Two birds one stone
Liverpool signing Declan Rice would kill two birds with one stone.
The England youngster is a competent centre midfielder but also handy as a centre back.
Given the Reds lack of quality in depth in both areas his signing would make plenty of sense.
He has another decade left in the tank and is a natural successor to Jordan Henderson.
However, £80m would be far too steep. Should he be available for a more realistic figure then his arrival could be a no brainer.
We could save money on signing centre back cover whilst also solidifying the midfield. His competency as a defensive midfielder could allow Fabinho to drop into the defence permanently.
