Liverpool take on Spurs this week with the Reds needing to get back to winning ways. Jürgen Klopp’s side haven’t won a Premier League game in over a month. We haven’t won this year. Thankfully, Liverpool have been handed a double injury boost with Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson expected to be fit for the game.

Liverpool win vital

This week the Reds decide whether or not they still want to be in the title race.

Liverpool head to Spurs without a goal in their last four Premier League games, without a win in their last five.

Jose Mourinho’s side can leapfrog Liverpool with a win. Losing in North London would see the Reds slide down to sixth.

It is simply a must win game for the Reds.

Henderson and Matip update

The Reds have struggled with injuries this season.

The defence has been worst hit with every single centre back ruled out at one point or another.

Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are unlikely to turn out again this season.

Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip missed the Liverpool defeat at Man United at the weekend.

The skipper had a fitness issue whilst the Cameroonian was rested with the trip to North London in mind.

Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Jürgen Klopp hinted that Henderson and Matip will be fit for Thursday:

“No new [injuries]. Hendo and Joel trained yesterday with the team fully. Like always we have to wait and see overnight but they trained.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool having Hendo and Matip available means we could see our strongest lineup since October.

The Cameroonian’s return means the captain can lineup in midfield alongside Thiago and Gini Wijnaldum.

This would release Thiago further up the pitch, perhaps in an 8 role.

The Spaniard dominated the Merseyside Derby when playing as an 8.
