Double Tottenham injury blow comes at perfect time for Mohamed Salah

Tottenham Hotspur have injury issues and they come at the ideal time for Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool star will worry Spurs.

The Evening Standard reports that Sergio Reguilon is out of Tottenham vs Liverpool. The left-back has a ‘muscle injury’ and that’s him done for the next three weeks.

But it actually gets a little worse for Spurs. Ben Davies, their other left-back, is also a doubt. He had to go off in stoppage time against Wycombe Wanderers on Monday and faces a late test.

Davies does hope to be fit, however, and isn’t ruled out. Either way, though, he either doesn’t play or won’t be fully fit.

And this has all got to sound great to Mohamed Salah.

Consistency

When Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 7-0, Salah ended a period of form that went under the radar a little. He bagged a brace in that game, scoring for a fifth game in a row.

It actually took his record over the five games to six goals and two assists – phenomenal stuff.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Unfortunately, Salah hasn’t scored in back-to-back games since. In fact, his only goal before Sunday came against Aston Villa’s Under 23s.

Importantly, though, he scored twice against Manchester United and looked to regain his form. All he has to do now is string some good games together.

So the fact that Spurs will be far from full-strength down his side of the pitch is great news. It provides Salah with an opportunity to put Tottenham to the sword, kick on, and lift Liverpool out of this terrible run of form.

The Reds will want every advantage they can get, after all. Spurs are good opposition and Liverpool haven’t won for five games.

More worryingly, Liverpool haven’t scored in four Premier League games. Salah is the man they’ll turn to for a fix, however, and he’s in line for a starring role at Tottenham.
