Capello raves over reported Liverpool target Nicolo Barella

Liverpool have been linked with a number of players in the past few months. More often than not we’ve been linked with defenders due to the injury crisis at the back. However, there’s also been some creative players rumoured for an Anfield switch. Reported Liverpool target Nicolo Barella is the best player in Serie A according to Fabio Capello.

Who is Nicolo Barella?

23-year-old Italian playmaker Nicolo Barella plays as a centre midfielder for Inter Milan.

The Serie A star is comfortable in the middle of the park or just in front of the midfield.

This season he’s made 19 appearances in the league, bagging five assists and two goals.

He’s earned a WhoScored rating of 7.00 for his performances.

A traditional playmaker he is noted for his eye for a pass and his composure on the ball.

There’ve been numerous reports surrounding the talented midfielder.

FC Inter News recently claimed Liverpool want Nicolo Barella and Inter will offer him a new deal in order to ward off interest.

He’s been given a ringing endorsement this week with ex-England boss Fabio Capello saying he’s the best in the divison.

When asked who is the top player in Serie A at the moment, the former Three Lions boss told Tuttomercatoweb:

“Barella, who resembles Tardelli for his dynamism and ability to read the games.”

What RTK has to say

Liverpool wouldn’t want Nicolo Barella if he wasn’t one of the best.

The Italian will surely cost any potential suitor a pretty penny.

He has been in fine form this term and given that he’ll only be 24-years-old next month he has plenty of time left to keep getting better.

Given the lack of a killer ball into the final third at the moment he could be a player the Reds need.
