Another potential Liverpool transfer is off the table as Eder Militao has a change of heart. The Brazilian was a reported option.
Eder Militao was, reportedly, an option for Liverpool in this transfer window. The Sunday World claimed as much, saying the Reds were ‘made aware’ of his availability.
Goal backed up that availability. Militao was available to buy or to loan – but could cost £44m if you did want him permanently.
It’s easy to see why Militao was on the market, too. He’s barely played for Real Madrid this season, featuring in just 225 La Liga minutes across three games.
This comes at a time when Real reportedly want to offload players, too. That’s according to both AS and OKDiario.
And why would Liverpool want him? Well, Militao is a very good centre-half with a lot of potential. He’s still only 23, after all.
There are problems with it, however, which led to us labelling it desperate. Militao can’t possibly be fit enough to impact things right away, for one.
But then, things do feel quite desperate at Anfield right now, don’t they?
Off the table
Unfortunately, it appears we can rule this one out. Marca reports that Militao no longer wants to leave Real.
He’s determined to stay and ‘fight’ Zinedine Zidane for a regular spot. It sounds as though it’ll be tough to pull him away from Los Blancos, then.
Especially at a time when players might fancy winning that fight against the Real boss. There are reports he faces the sack, after all.

This would be a second option off the table for Liverpool. The Athletic claims they enquired about Sokratis after his Arsenal exit.
He’s officially signed for Olympiacos, though.
Liverpool are now running out of time and their limited options are shrinking even further. The chances that they bring in help always appeared slim but right now, they feel less likely than ever.
