Liverpool have been quiet in this January transfer window. The Reds have been begged to make additions. Kopites have been crying out for more depth all over the pitch, at least at centre back. Whilst it looks as though the Reds won’t be doing any business themselves, Liverpool can benefit from watching Martin Odegaard at Arsenal.
Lack of Liverpool business
The Reds haven’t won in their last five Premier League games.
Jürgen Klopp’s side haven’t scored in the most recent four of the five.
There are obvious issues in the squad which need addressing, namely depth.
The centre of defence has been devastated by injuries whilst the front three is misfiring and could do with competition or rotation options.

Despite these obvious issues it appears FSG have decided there’s no money in the bank to turn things around.
Arsenal to sign Odegaard
According to every man and his dog, Arsenal are close to agreeing a loan deal for Martin Odegaard.
The BBC reported yesterday that Real Madrid decided against letting him rejoin Real Sociedad and instead want him to head to Arsenal.
Talks are thought to be progressing well and barring any unforeseen issues, the Norwegian should be starring for Mikel Arteta soon.
Liverpool can track Martin Odegaard
This is an ideal opportunity for the Reds.
Liverpool can see how Martin Odegaard copes with the Premier League in the next four months or so.
The Norwegian has been on the Reds’ radar for years, he even trained at Melwood before deciding on a move to the Spanish capital.
Playing at Arsenal will give the Madrid star Premier League experience and if he proves himself in North London then Liverpool could move for Odegaard over the summer.
