The Reds headed to Old Trafford in shocking form. They were beaten 3-2 by their old rivals but it was an improvement on recent performances. We’d have beaten them at full strength. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Man United:

Alisson – 8
The Brazilian made some smart stops and misplaced a pass or two. An all round solid display though.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6
The Scouser keeps misplacing passes. He just looks knackered but we can forgive that for obvious reasons.
Rhys Williams – 3
The youngster is inexperienced and that showed in a big game. His game was riddled with misjudgements and he cost us the tie.
Fabinho – 7
Fabby is impassable. The Brazilian is an unreal defender and he keeps being brilliant at the back, he was unlucky for the key incident.
Andy Robertson – 7
The Scotland captain was running incessantly down the left hand side.
Thiago – 8
The Spaniard is a different class in the middle, his vision and close control are a joy to behold.
James Milner – 8
The veteran midfielder offers invaluable experience and determination in the middle.
Gini Wijnaldum – 6
The Dutchman doesn’t stop running but he could’ve offered more in possession today.
Mo Salah – 7
The Egyptian King netted an impressive brace but there were more incidents of him taking the shot when he should’ve passed
Curtis Jones – 6
The Scouser was impressive in flashes, he needs more game time.
Roberto Firmino – 7
Bobby provided a couple of great assists whilst also missing a golden opportunity or two.
