Ousmane Dembele troubled star

There was a time when Ousmane Dembele was the brightest prospect on the planet.

The French winger was lighting up the Bundesliga and Barcelona were quick to act; they signed the wide forward from Borussia Dortmund for £135.5m in 2017.

Unfortunately, injuries have plagued the 23-year-old’s Catalan career.

His hamstring has been a particularly sore spot with two lengthy injury lay offs.

According to Transfermarkt he’s missed at least 85 games for Barcelona due to injury.

Liverpool interest in Ousmane Dembele

Barca’s French winger is one of those players perpetually linked with an Anfield switch.

Four months ago Sport claimed that Jürgen Klopp ‘asked’ Liverpool to loan Ousmane Dembele for this season.

This story was just one in a long line of rumours of Anfield interest in the youngster.

Ousmane Dembele available cheap

This summer Ousmane Dembele will enter the final year of his deal at Barcelona.

According to Sport in Spain, Barca have been impressed with the winger’s recent performances.

However, given the enormous fee they paid for him they are thought to be open to selling him this summer rather than lose him on a free.

To lose him on a free would see a catastrophic loss of £135.5m.

They can try and recoup at least some of this money over the summer if they fail to tie the Frenchman down to a new deal.

This could open the door for Liverpool to sign Ousmane Dembele for a bargain fee.
