Liverpool have been unlucky with injuries this season. The Reds have lost most of the first team to the treatment table at some time or another. Finally some of our most important stars are edging closer to a return. Twitter has reacted to news that Joel Matip could return against Burnley.
Joel Matip absence
Liverpool have been without Joel Matip since December.
The Cameroonian limped out of a home tie with West Brom just before New Year.
On the hour mark the defender overstretched and picked up a groin problem.
We’ve not won a game since he picked up his injury, nor have the Reds managed to find the net.

Liverpool are without a win in the last four and without a goal in the last three.
Joel Matip could return v Burnley
Jürgen Klopp this week delivered a Joel Matip injury update which will be music to Kopites’ ears.
The boss confirmed that the defender has been in full training this week, telling a pre-match press conference:
“So, first and foremost, Joel is in full training.
“Now we have to make a decision and we will see how that will be until tomorrow. Yesterday he trained completely normal.”
This update means that Joel Matip is likely to return against Burnley.
Having Matip back in contention is a massive boost for the Reds.
His involvement means that Jordan Henderson can return to the midfield.
We could even see Fabinho step forward again with Nat Phillips or Rhys Williams called into action.
Either way, his return opens up a lot of options for the boss.
Twitter reacts to news
One Twitter user believes he’s better than his Man United counterpart.
Fans are relieved.
Whilst others don’t have much faith that he can stay fit.
Now we need one more man to return.
