Jurgen Klopp has reassured Liverpool fans amid some very poor form for the team. The Reds boss sees positives – even if many don’t.

Liverpool haven’t won in four Premier League games, now. They haven’t even scored in their last three.

It’s a run of poor form that saw Liverpool give up their place at the top of the table. They’re six points behind Manchester United ahead of their game in hand against Burnley today.

They’re four behind Manchester City, though, without a game in hand. It’s all a far cry from last season’s dominant league performance.

More worryingly, it’s a far cry from a month ago. Liverpool looked like huge title favourites back then but now they just want to win a game for once.

Jurgen Klopp, though, doesn’t think it’s all doom and gloom. He sees positives and he refuses to ignore them just to focus on results.

“We all know it is all about results but sometimes you can see little steps in the right direction or not,” he said, per Sky Sports.

“We wanted to play better but there were a lot of good signs and I cannot ignore them and I will not.

“Sometimes we have to be really, not stubborn, resilient maybe, and do it.

“It [the criticism] is just getting earlier and earlier but it is all fine. We are on it, believe me.”

What RTK has to say

We find this reassuring. Mainly because Klopp is usually right about these things.

If he can see things are working and heading in the right direction, we believe him. Hopefully, we can see the results improve as quickly as today.

As for what he might see, there are obvious positives. Liverpool are controlling games well, on the whole.

Against United, the Reds dominated both the ball and the space. They frequently got into good positions and just lacked the final ball – be it the right pass or shot.

But we know Liverpool’s front-three are capable of shining – of course they are. Mohamed Salah, in particular, has had a great season.

Thus it really might be as simple as waiting for things to click again.

Injuries really robbed Liverpool of any consistency this season, consistency that carried them to the title last season. Now that the crisis is lightening up, perhaps the team can recapture their rhythm.

That’ll be the big hope, then. Klopp certainly sounds confident about it and that’s good enough for us.
