Inter Milan have been offered the chance to sign Liverpool striker Divock Origi on loan, according to reports. The Belgian international has been identified as ideal cover to Romelu Lukaku.
This comes from Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport. They claim that Antonio Conte has been offered the chance to work with Origi, who has struggled immeasurably for game-time this season.
The 25-year-old striker has been subject to just 12 minutes of Premier League action this term, after all. He has just one start in all competitions in 2020/21, too.
And as a result, his imminent Liverpool future has been cast into serious doubt in recent weeks, especially with Inter determined to find a viable back-up to Origi’s countryman Lukaku.
The former Chelsea and Manchester United striker remains Conte’s central attacking focal point. He has featured in all but two of the Italian outfit’s Serie A and Champions League fixtures, after all.
Origi, then, could act as cover to Lukaku if a loan deal is sanctioned by Liverpool. His chances of being selected for Euro 2021 hinge on whether the former Genk forward is able to hit his stride in the coming months.
According to reports from Italy, Liverpool are ready to sanction a move.

What RTK has to say
Indeed, Origi would benefit from first-team action from now until the end of the season, but a move to Inter would hardly secure that.
At Inter, Conte is blessed with the attacking talents of Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez. As a result, it is unlikely Origi would dethrone a partnership that has 27 combined goals this season.
Jurgen Klopp for one, would surely recognise this, too. With that said, it seems unlikely the manager would sanction a move that isn’t going to change Origi’s starting prospects.
Unless another club has serious intentions of utilising Origi as their first-choice striker, Liverpool should hold off from all offers.
