Kylian Mbappe could settle on his third choice in the future, according to reports. That’s despite being keen on a move to Liverpool.
This comes from ESPN. They say Kylian Mbappe hasn’t made a choice over his future just yet but has ideas in mind.
His ‘dream’ is apparently Real Madrid. Mbappe ‘would be keen’ on a move to Liverpool, too, who could get involved.
There’s a real problem, though, affecting both teams. Each has taken a real hit to their finances this year and has major doubts that they could afford Mbappe.
The Frenchman apparently thinks simply renewing his contract with Paris Saint-Germain might be the best option.

What RTK has to say
It would be an unfortunate end to this saga if Liverpool couldn’t afford to bid for Mbappe. It really feels as though he’s there for the taking – the biggest signing in the club’s history.
AS claims that the low-end estimate for a price is around £135m. That’s undoubtedly an enormous fee in these times, yet the publication feels it could push up towards £180m.
We’d understand, then, if Liverpool stayed clear of that kind of offer.
As for Mbappe, his safe option is undoubtedly renewing. He’s destined to be a hero at PSG and he knows they can afford his wage, given they don’t have to put up any transfer fee for him.
That’s the choice that lands Mbappe a massive contract at the top end of the game.
Still, it really comes across as a third-choice option. It’s obviously not the one he really wants or he’d have signed a deal by now.
Thus if Liverpool can prove they do have the money, the opportunity is there. PSG won’t let him leave for free in 18 months – they’ll listen in the summer.
It just comes down to what Liverpool think they can afford.
