Liverpool failed to beat Man United this weekend when a win would’ve sent Jürgen Klopp’s side back to the top of the table. In the second half the Reds were limp, lacklustre. Despite the poor result there were some encouraging performances. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should be worried about the Xherdan Shaqiri performance against Man United.

Liverpool draw with United
The Reds have been in stuttering form lately.
Jürgen Klopp’s side are without a win this year. They haven’t scored this year.
Liverpool last netted against West Brom on the 27th of December 2020.
Since then we’ve seen things break down in the vital moment, chances have gone wasted.
This weekend we didn’t do enough with possession and needed some heroic Alisson Becker saves to keep things level.
Xherdan Shaqiri performance
The weekend fixture saw £13m star Xherdan Shaqiri start against the Red Devils.
The Swiss international put in an impressive display given that it was his first start in the league in over a year.
He was finding dangerous spaces and using the ball cleverly, he also was unafraid to shoot.
His stats for the game may not amount to much but he certainly passed the eye test and he deserves to retain his place in the side.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Xherdan Shaqiri
The Ox must’ve been worried watching Shaq’s performance.
Oxlade-Chamberlain should be behind Shaqiri in the pecking order after the Swiss international’s impressive display.
The Ox didn’t impress at Southampton upon his return to the side, he was anonymous at best.
Shaq on the other hand was often threatening in possession. We need to see more of the ex-Stoke City man.
