"Magic": Sadio Mane heaps praise on Thiago Alcantara

Liverpool have been incredibly unlucky with injuries and illnesses this season. Some players have been sidelined by both. Kopites have been robbed of seeing some superstars at their best for long stretches. One man in particular is only just returning to the fold. Sadio Mane has heaped praise on Thiago Alcantara, saying he can’t wait to see more of his teammate.

Thiago absences

This summer was one full of optimism for Kopites.

The Reds had just won the Premier League and we were looking to start building on the success.

When links between the club and Thiago first emerged many of were quick to dismiss the rumours rather than get our hopes up.

After much speculation, Liverpool signed Thiago from Bayern Munich for a cut price £20m.

Since then we’ve seen only glimpses of the Spaniard.

Illness ruled him out at first and upon his return he dominated the Merseyside Derby before being sidelined for 10 weeks by a horror tackle from Richarlison.

Sadio Mane on Thiago

Liverpool have been toothless in possession at times this season.

The return of their Spanish playmaker has seen jolts of creativity which have been encouraging for fans and players alike.

Sadio Mane has heaped praise on Thiago, telling the official club site:

“I always said Thiago is one of the best in his position in the world, for sure. He was unlucky with the injury, but now he is coming back.

“From his first game I was impressed because I didn’t think he would be that impressive on the pitch!

“It is coming slowly, slowly and I think he is reaching his best level, which is very good for us and for Liverpool Football Club.

“I can’t wait. We are looking forward to seeing more of this – his magic! – to help the team together.”

What RTK has to say

Sadio Mane isn’t the only one excited about Thiago.

We are desperate to see the Spaniard get a run of games in the side.

Today’s tie with Man United is the perfect time for him to strut his stuff.

The playmaker could make the difference in the crunch clash, we need him at his best.
