Liverpool are facing Man United from position Klopp thrives in

Liverpool take on Man United this weekend in what feels like an early title decider. The Reds have been in poor form of late whilst the Red Devils have done enough to get over the line each week. It has been a frustrating few rounds of fixtures. However, the results mean that Liverpool are facing Man United from an underdog position which Jürgen Klopp thrives in.

Winless Liverpool

The Reds are without a win in three in the league.

Jürgen Klopp’s side have hit some stuttering form after battling to top of the league at Christmas.

West Brom played some pretty boring football to earn themselves a draw at Anfield.

Newcastle United followed suit at St. James’ Park.

Southampton went ahead early at St. Mary’s before digging in deep and riding their luck with a penalty claim.

United top of the league

Man United on the other hand have been in fine fettle.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have claimed top spot in the Premier League thanks to a string of narrow wins.

Kopites are currently a bit miffed by the Red Devils’ latest win after Luke Shaw somehow survived the game without a red card after an awful first half tackle.

Underdog Jürgen Klopp

Sure. I can see the resentful replies already.

However, on form and league standing, Liverpool are the underdog this weekend and Jürgen Klopp thrives in that role.

The German has always pulled out his best performances when we weren’t meant to.

We turned Barcelona over 4-0 in the Champions League.

We were running away with the title last year and the boss kept telling everybody the race wasn’t done until it was done; he hates being the favourite.

This game suits him down to the ground. When he is the underdog Jürgen Klopp gets the result he needs.
