Liverpool have been in poor form of late. There’s no denying that. The Reds have been far from their best and the string of results have seen Jürgen Klopp’s side let Man United back into the title race. We caught up with an Anfield icon to ask what’s gone wrong. Emile Heskey told us Liverpool have been squandering too many chances in recent weeks.
Winless Liverpool run
The Reds very rarely put together a string of results this poor.
Jürgen Klopp’s side has been remarkably consistent in recent seasons, making this run of three games a bizarre aberration.
West Brom were the first, coming to Anfield intent on spoiling the game with some defensive football.

A trip to Newcastle United saw a goalless draw on Tyneside.
Southampton compounded the misery by beating Liverpool 1-0 on the South Coast.
Emile Heskey on Liverpool form
The Reds are without a win in three and it’s just awful.
We asked Emile Heskey what Liverpool have been getting wrong.
In his exclusive interview with Rousing the Kop, the Anfield icon told us:
“Squandering chances obviously.
“We’ve got a defensive problem first and foremost with holding midfielders at centre back and that’s not ideal.
“We created a hell of a lot of chances in the Newcastle game but we squandered a lot but we weren’t as potent and we didn’t have the killer instinct. We’ve got to get back to that.”
What RTK has to say
Liverpool have missed chance after chance in recent weeks.
The Reds went from scoring seven ridiculous goals at Crystal Palace before they went on this barren run.
Mo Salah in particular has been wasteful but he’ll be back to his best soon.
We’re creating chances, we just need to take more of them.
