Liverpool need a centre back, you don’t have to be a genius to have figured that out by now. The Reds have been devastated by illness and injury this term and the boss has still, somehow, dragged us to top of the table. Fans want a buy this January but that appears unlikely, papers are guessing at our summer plans instead. Liverpool are interested in Loic Bade according to reports in France.
Defensive crisis at Anfield
Fabinho and Jordan Henderson started at centre back for Liverpool last time out.
The two holding midfield players have been forced into the back four due a string of injuries at the club.
The most devastating blow came in October when Virgil van Dijk ruptured his ACL.
Joe Gomez suffered a knee injury shortly after and Joel Matip has been characteristically in and out of the side since.
Whilst a January buy is necessary, the financial reality is that a summer move is more likely.

The 20-year-old centre back has been impressing for Lens this term, earning a WhoScored rating of 7.02 in his 16 Ligue 1 appearances.
The division’s official site dubbed the defender a ‘rising star’ due to his mature performances.
What RTK has to say
Another day, another defender.
Liverpool being linked with Loic Bade comes as no surprise.
He’s performing well, he’s young and he’s a centre back.
That is just about all it takes to be rumoured for an Anfield move these days.
We’ll wait and see if anymore noise is made about potential interest before we start to get excited about this lad.
