Report: Liverpool join Merih Demiral transfer chase

Liverpool are in dire need of a centre back, you don’t need to be a (football) scientist to know that. The Reds have seen every single one of their senior centre half options injured this season. Liverpool centre back crisis

The Reds have been forced into such decisions by an unprecedented injury crisis at the back.

Virgil van Dijk was the first to go, the Dutchman ruptured his ACL in the Merseyside Derby in October.

A few weeks later and Joe Gomez was ruled out with a knee problem of his won.

Since then Joel Matip has been sidelined by an abductor issue.

Raphinha, Coutinho and Tielemans: The signings Liverpool could make this summer

Liverpool need a centre back, simple as that.

Liverpool in Merih Demiral transfer chase

There have been dozens of defenders linked with an Anfield move in recent months.

It has been a free for all in the press, a scattergun approach to transfer gossip.

The latest comes from Fanatik in Turkey who claim Liverpool have joined the Merih Demiral transfer chase.

The Turkish centre back is reportedly also wanted by Spurs and Leicester City.

According to Fanatik the 22-year-old would cost around £45m.

What RTK has to say

Do we even care anymore?

This seems to happen every day.

I wish I could hibernate until we had a decision. Yet it is our duty to report on the constant, incessant centre back gossip.

If Liverpool have joined the Merih Demiral transfer chase then maybe we’re edging clsoer to a solution.

However, we won’t be putting too much faith in the rumour considering how many other potential options there are.
