Liverpool need reinforcements. The Reds have lost large swathes of the first team to illness and injury this season. Jürgen Klopp has miraculously held on to top spot despite the persistent availability issues. We need to bring in depth, cover and quality. Liverpool trying to sign David Alaba is a no brainer.

Liverpool contact David Alaba
Last summer David Alaba entered the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old Austrian has decided not to sign a new deal with the German champions.
As a result the sharks are circling, jockeying for position as they look secure his free transfer for the summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are trying to sign David Alaba.
The journalist has said that the Reds have contacted the player but Real Madrid are winning the race at the minute.
Sky high wages
According to Goal, the defender wants around £12m a season in wages after tax.
This is an enormous figure and one which isn’t in keeping with the Reds’ wage structure.
Despite the salary issue; Liverpool trying to sign David Alaba makes plenty of sense.
No brainer signing
Jürgen Klopp values versatility and a strong mentality.
We stormed to the Premier League title last year by just about doing enough in each game, it took a winner’s mentality.
It also took players filling in in different positions when required.
If Liverpool sign David Alaba then they’re bringing in a player who can play near enough anywhere on the pitch if required and someone who can lift the squad around him.
He has won nine Bundesliga titles and two Champions Leagues, playing at left back, centre back and centre midfield to name but a few positions.
He is a Jürgen Klopp player down to a T. We may need Michael Edwards to work his magic with the finances of it all but he’d be a no brainer of a signing.
