The Liverpool academy is full of competition, as expected given the amount of talent in the youth ranks. The Reds often have to farm players out on loan in order to give them the first team experience they need, inevitably another youngster is ready to take their place. Layton Stewart should benefit from Liam Millar joining Charlton on loan.

Millar made his Liverpool debut in the FA Cup fourth round against Shrewsbury Town last year.
This season the Canadian captained the U23s and has also signed a contract extension ahead of his loan move.
Layton Stewart and Liam Millar
There is bound to be someone at the academy to benefit from the loan move.
Layton Stewart could look at the Liam Millar departure as further solidifying his role in the U23s.
Whilst Millar typically plays off the left of the attack and Stewart through the middle, the 18-year-old Scouser will surely be relied upon more heavily by the U23s side with another forward having left the lineup.
When you factor in the injury records of Joe Hardy and Paul Glatzel, we may see Stewart leading the line for the U23s for the foreseeable future with Jack Bearne nudged out wide.
