Liverpool have had a tough season in terms of, well, everything. The Reds have been utterly decimated by injuries and illnesses. We’ve seen the first team lost swathes of key stars at crucial times. One superstar is just returning. Thiago will transform Liverpool but he needs time to adapt.
Liverpool sign Thiago
What a summer.
Throughout the last summer transfer window we saw the Reds persistently linked with Thiago Alcantara.
The rumours appeared to be utter rubbish at first. He doesn’t fit the profile of a Liverpool signing at all.
The Spaniard was entering the final year of his deal at Bayern Munich and he was refusing to sign a fresh contract.

Liverpool capitalised by signing one of the world’s best midfielders for just £20m.
Thiago injury blow
Since signing for Liverpool we haven’t been able to see much of the midfielder.
The Spaniard broke records at Chelsea just days after signing for Liverpool.
He was then ruled out after a positive COVID-19 test.
Upon his return we saw a horror tackle from Richarlison cause a serious knee injury for Thiago.
The Spaniard was ruled out for 10 weeks due to the challenge.
We’ve now seen him for the final minutes against Newcastle and the full 90 against Southampton.
Thiago will transform Liverpool
Thiago was a signing like no other.
He was a luxury buy; we didn’t need him desperately. He didn’t fit the age profile. He was a luxury.
He has been treated as such since his arrival. He was thrown straight in against Chelsea and into the Derby.
When he’s fit, he starts. This is unusual for a Jürgen Klopp signing. Typically, players are given weeks to blend in, to get up to speed.
Thiago will transform Liverpool but he needs this time. He needs to get on the same wavelength as his teammates. He needs to learn their movements.
He will establish himself as one of the best in the division, we just need to wait for him to adapt.
