Liverpool have the funds to complete a transfer for Kylian Mbappe, according to reports. It would be the biggest in the club’s history – in more ways than one.
This comes from AS in Spain. They talk about Liverpool likely battling Real Madrid for Kylian Mbappe as both look to complete a statement transfer.
The report says that Liverpool have even made moves towards Mbappe’s entourage recently. That would suggest they’re gearing up for a move later this year.
The important part, though, is that the Reds ‘have the funds’ to complete a deal. Now, it doesn’t say how big that deal would be but you can imagine it’s somewhere above the £165m Paris Saint-Germain paid to sign Mbappe.
What RTK has to say
This is the second report this week that links Liverpool and Mbappe. The first, as mentioned by AS, came from L’Equipe in France.

It’s worth mentioning, too, why this could happen. Mbappe’s contract expires in 2022 and he doesn’t look like signing a new one.
If PSG want anything for their most valuable asset, they may have to sell him this summer.
It’s certainly easy to get wrapped up in this one. Mbappe is as big as it gets – not just for Liverpool but for everyone.
Thus it would be the biggest signing in the club’s history by some margin. Liverpool would have to break their transfer record to sign him, and probably the British transfer record, too.
But it’s the stature that makes this so exciting. As certain players begin to wind down, Mbappe appears certain to be the best in the world before long.
Liverpool have never signed a near-guaranteed thing like that. Nor have they signed the world’s most in-demand player.
Their current status opens the door, though. And if they truly have the funds, then this is the time to try and pull it off.
There is no bigger signing and there may not be for some time. We’ll certainly cross our fingers that Liverpool can make the Mbappe transfer happen.
Hopefully, you will, too.
