Report: Liverpool could land Kylian Mbappe by repeating Thiago tactic

Liverpool were relatively restrained in the last summer transfer window. The Reds were hamstrung by the financial uncertainties posed by the global health crisis. They’ll hopefully be more exuberant in the coming summer. Reports in France have suggested Liverpool could land Kylian Mbappe using the same tactic which secured Thiago.

Liverpool interest in Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool wanting Kylian Mbappe is a story as old as time.

The Frenchman has been lighting up the French top flight since he was a teenager.

He remains the heir apparent to the Ballon d’Or once Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo retire from their duopoly.

According to Sport in Spain, the Reds are ‘willing to fight’ for the crown prince, the outlet has stated a price tag of £160m.

Liverpool to land Mbappe with Thiago tactic

L’Equipe in France believe the next six months are crucial to the youngster’s future at PSG.

The outlet has claimed that Liverpool are hoping to make a move for Mbappe in the summer with Real Madrid also interested.

L’Equipe believes that the Reds could use benefit from the same conditions which helped them land Thiago.

In the summer the Frenchman will enter the final year of his deal at PSG.

This will put the Parisians at a disadvantage at the negotiating table as they risk losing him on a free if they don’t sell.

The Reds managed to bag Thiago at a bargain price of £20m under the same conditions.

What RTK has to say

If Liverpool sign Kylian Mbappe then that’s the Premier League done and dusted for a decade.

The Frenchman is certain to be the striker of the next decade.

Put him in this Reds side and it’s curtains for the rest of the league.

If there is ever a time when we could sign him it’s this summer. His contract is running out and we have a megabucks Nike deal behind us. Let’s play ball.
