Liverpool have had a tough season with injuries and a tough week with results. The Reds have been leaking points in their past couple of games and these results are an extension of a worrying pattern emerging. On Monday Liverpool fans should find out whether Thiago holds the key to unlocking the best form of our front three.
Thiago injury woes
The Thiago transfer saga was one for the ages.
The Reds were linked with the Spanish playmaker all summer.
Kopites were gasping for news, swooning over the notion of seeing the maestro in the Reds’ midfield.
Eventually a £20m deal was struck with Bayern Munich and just a couple of days later the Spaniard was breaking records against Chelsea.

Since then the midfielder has played against Everton and made a late cameo against Newcastle United.
Thiago was ruled out for 10 weeks after a horror tackle in the Merseyside Derby.
Liverpool stuttering form
The Reds have failed to blow away the lower league sides this term.
Most recently we’ve seen Jürgen Klopp held to draws with Newcastle United and West Brom.
These results follow disappointing ties with Fulham and Brighton.
The games have all followed the same pattern of the Reds dominating the ball but being unable to convert enough chances.
Thiago v Southampton
This Monday we will see the Reds take on the Saints.
Thiago could start against Southampton and if he does we could well get the answer to a question we’ve been asking.
Will Thiago hold the key?
During these lacklustre displays we’ve kept telling ourselves: when Thiago is back it’ll all be ok. When Thiago is back we’ll be tearing teams apart.
Monday will give us the answer. The Spaniard will surely be involved from the outset. Can he transform our fortunes?
