Liverpool have been linked with near enough every young defender in Europe in recent months. The rumours won’t stop until the defence is reinforced. The question is: who will it be? We’re all waiting with baited breath. The latest rumour has claimed Liverpool are targeting Roger Ibanez but Arsenal are also interested.
Liverpool defensive reinforcements
There is no denying that the Reds are in dire need of backup in defence.
Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for the season when he ruptured his ACL in October.
Whilst Joe Gomez’s return date is uncertain due to a knee injury of his own.
Most recently Joel Matip has been ruled out for three weeks with an abductor issue.

This has left Fabinho at centre back alongside either Rhys Williams or Nat Phillips.
Many believe that the club have no choice but to invest.
Liverpool target Roger Ibanez
According to Calciomercato in Italy, Liverpool are targeting Roger Ibanez.
The 22-year-old is allegedly also wanted by Arsenal.
The report states that the Brazilian would cost around £35m.
Any deal would have to be done in the summer as he is currently on loan at Roma from Atalanta.
The youngster can play at centre back, left back or in defensive midfield.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool signing Roger Ibanez makes sense on paper.
He is just 22-years-old and wouldn’t cost a king’s ransom.
Most importantly he is versatile. Being able to slot into a few different positions is something Jürgen Klopp will like.
Whether or not the interest is concrete or just paper talk we don’t know.
All we know is that we are desperate for numbers at the back.
