Liverpool went to Newcastle United hoping to right the wrongs of a lacklustre display at Anfield but we were greeted with more of the same. The Reds are utterly knackered. Thankfully we got to see Thiago. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Newcastle United:

Alisson Becker – 8.5
The Brazilian was once again faultless. The little work he had to do he did with minimal fuss and his distribution was on point.
Trent Alexander-Arnold – 8
The Scouser wasn’t at his very best we can’t give him anything lower than an eight after that pass.
Fabinho – 8.5
The Brazilian was composed and efficient, covering Nat Phillips well when he needed to.
Nat Phillips – 6
The youngster isn’t a first choice centre back and we saw why tonight, he was caught out a few times against top quality in Callum Wilson.
Andy Robertson – 8
Andy Robbo, published author, is relentless. His running makes things happen.
James Milner – 7
The veteran is invaluable. His experience and professionalism is vital to the midfield.
Curtis Jones – 6
The Scouser wasn’t effective enough in the first half, not getting on the ball in dangerous enough areas often enough.
Jordan Henderson – 7
The skipper is just incredibly consistent. He’s not one for that moment of magic but he’s one to never let you down.
Mo Salah – 5
The Egyptian King missed too many big chances. Huge chances. He could’ve won us it on a few occasions.
Sadio Mane – 6.5
He kept trying but he just couldn’t get something to come off.
Roberto Firmino – 7
Bobby did his job well. A few poor touches in key areas but some trademark through balls.
