Liverpool could’ve pulled clear at the top of the Premier League this afternoon. Sadly they came up short when facing a resolute Sam Allardyce side. The visitors were solid defensively and we have to give them credit for that. We do have one moment to celebrate though, Twitter has been raving over the Sadio Mane goal v West Brom:

Liverpool could’ve pulled well clear at the top of the Premier League table this weekend.
Yet Sam Allardyce came and did what he does.
The visiting manager showed up and parked two banks of defense and it worked.
You are frustrated by it but you have to appreciate that it works.
It may not be pretty but it works.
It may make you want to stop watching the sport but it works.
It may make you wonder why you ever started watching this beautiful game but it works.
It may make your eyes bleed but it works.
I’ll stop now.
We draw 1-1. It was tough to watch.
Sadio Mane goal v West Brom
Early on in the game Sadio Mane netted a superlative goal against West Brom.
The Senegalese forward had a ball fired into his chest by Joel Matip and he turned past his defender before firing past the keeper.
It was one of those: ‘how did you do that Sadio?’ moments.
We are truly lucky to have him. It’s a shame it wasn’t the winner but what are you meant to do against that brick wall parked bus?
I’m not bitter. It works. It’s grim. But it works.
