Liverpool always have one eye on the future and their youth recruitment proves it. The Reds have been hard at work in recent years cherry picking some of the brightest talents for the academy. Recent reports have us targeting an academy star closer to first team level. Twitter has reacted to claims Liverpool want to sign Folarin Balogun from Arsenal.
Liverpool want Folarin Balogun
The Reds are no strangers to snapping up wonderkids from rival clubs.
We bagged Rhian Brewster from Chelsea at a young age, more recently we signed Harvey Elliott from Fulham.
The Athletic has claimed Liverpool now want Folarin Balogun from Arsenal.
The 19-year-old’s contract expires in the summer and apparently little progress has been made towards an extension.

The report claims that the German Bundesliga is the teenager’s preferred destination but the Reds maintain an interest in the wonderkid.
What RTK has to say
Liverpool snapping up Folarin Balogun on a free would be a smart move.
The teenager has been prolific for Arsenal at youth level.
Whether or not he’d have a future as a Reds’ striker is up for debate.
If he has the quality then he will be afforded chances.
Though the obvious route many fans believe the move could take is Liverpool developing Balogun with a view to selling him on for a profit a couple of years down the line.
We made tidy sums selling Dominic Solanke and Rhian Brewster. We could be set to repeat the trick.
Twitter reacts to reports
Arsenal fans are heartbroken at the prospect.
The plan could be quite obvious.
Maybe we should just snap him up when things go pear shaped in North London?
He could be a steal if we get him in the summer.
