Liverpool youth recruitment

The Reds’ academy is stacked with precocious young talent.

Some of the brightest prospects have been brought in from other clubs.

Harvey Elliott was signed from Fulham in 2019, arriving in the same window as Sepp van den Berg.

This week the Reds landed highly rated England youth international Calum Scanlon.

Recruiting the brightest teenagers around should help save the club money further down the line. Always cheaper to craft a superstar than to buy one.

Liverpool land Stefan Bajcetic

This week saw the Reds reportedly land not just one but two youngsters.

According to La Voz de Galicia, Liverpool have signed Stefan Bajcetic from Celta Vigo.

The report claims that the Reds managed to beat Manchester United to the youngster’s signature.

Allegedly, the Red Devils believed they had a deal in place before Liverpool swooped in at the last minute to secure his signature.

Liverpool and Man United power shift

The fact that Liverpool were able to swoop in and sign Stefan Bajcetic after Man United had been in advanced negotiations says a lot about the power shift between the two clubs.

The Old Trafford side wrestled power from the Reds in the late 90s and were on top for most of this century.

Since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson and the appointment of Jürgen Klopp we’ve seen Liverpool climb back on top of their perch.

This deal is the latest signifier of who is in charge at the moment.

Sure, United have snapped up the likes of Facundo Pellistri recently but the fact that we managed to clinch this deal after the Red Devils were so close is evidence of Liverpool’s current standing in the game.
