Liverpool need to make Mo Salah decision soon in light of Gini Wijnaldum

Liverpool don’t often get things wrong in the transfer market. The club has been run incredibly efficiently in recent years. When you compare the vision and structure of the club to the likes of Arsenal at the minute you can’t help but be grateful for the FSG revolution. The club have been caught out in one regard though. Liverpool need to make a decision on Mo Salah soon and Gini Wijnaldum shows why.

Mo Salah unhappy

According to a close friend of Mo Salah, the Reds star is unhappy at Anfield.

His pal claimed that the winger, signed for £34m, was left angry by the decision to not award him the captaincy against FC Midtjylland.

He is also thought by his friend to be generally discontented with life at the club.

The claims came hot on the heels of an interview which saw the forward flirting with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Gini Wijnaldum debacle

At the moment Gini Wijnaldum’s future at Anfield is up in the air.

The Dutchman entered the final year of his contract over the summer and he’s yet to sign a new deal.

This has led to various rumours that the midfielder will leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Kopites are clamouring for the club to agree an extension with the 30-year-old. This has been one of his best seasons yet.

Mo Salah and Gini Wijnaldum

At the end of this season Mo Salah will have two years remaining on his Liverpool contract.

His deal will expire when he is 31-years-old.

This means that the Egyptian King is looking for his last bumper contract of his career.

If Liverpool don’t decide to keep or sell the winger soon then we run the risk of repeating the mistake we made with Gini Wijnaldum.

Mo Salah could run down his contract and when he reaches 31-years-old the club could be reluctant to hand him a pricey extension, allowing him to be snapped up on a free.

Whatever is going on with the forward we need to resolve the issue immediately.
