Liverpool have the strongest front three in world football. Even when they aren’t scoring bags of goals every week they’re still terrifying defences. Such is the quality of the attacking line, it is difficult to break into. One man has found this to be the case this season. German giants Borussia Dortmund have been urged to sign Divock Origi.
Divock Origi frustrations
In all of my time watching Liverpool I don’t think there’s been a single player Kopites have wanted to do well more than Divock Origi.
He’s a cult hero, we absolutely adore him. Yet he just can’t perform consistently.
He only shows up once in a blue moon, it just so happens that those blue moons have been in the sky when we were crying out for a goal.
This season he’s spent most of his time on the bench, the rest of the time watching from the stands.
Borussia Dortmund urged to sign Divock Origi
Things aren’t going well at Jürgen Klopp’s old club.
Dortmund have just sacked their manager after a disappointing start to the season.
Questions are now being asked of the transfer policy, namely a reluctance to sign a striker to partner, or at least backup, Erling Haaland.
Former Bayern Munich midfielder Stefan Effenberg believes Borussia Dortmund should move for Divock Origi. He wrote in his t-Online column:
“VB sports director Michael Zorc said the club had decided to build up 16-year-old striker Youssoufa Moukoko alongside Haaland.
“A 16-year-old as a backup for a 20-year-old? That is fatal and doesn’t work at all.
“The bosses make a mistake if they don’t bring in an experienced striker. And they already failed to take up this position in the summer.
“Two candidates for a winter transfer or at least a loan deal until the end of the season: Divock Origi (25) from Liverpool or Mauro Icardi (27) from PSG.”
What RTK has to say
Borussia Dortmund signing Divock Origi would work out well for all parties.
The Belgian would get some more minutes on the pitch ahead of the Euros and the Reds would be able to cash in.
The 25-year-old needs to move on for the good of his career, hopefully he gets a move sorted sooner rather than later.
