Who is Renato Sanches?

There was a time when Renato Sanches was the next best thing.

The 23-year-old midfielder is currently plying his trade at Lille but he made his name at Benfica.

He was named European Golden Boy in 2016, shortly after joining Bayern Munich in a megabucks move.

Things never quite worked out for him at Bayern and he found himself on loan at Swansea at a point.

Eventually the Portuguese star joined Lille for a club record fee.

Liverpool linked with Renato Sanches move

This week Le10 Sport claimed that Liverpool are tracking Renato Sanches.

The report said that the Reds are ‘very attentive’ to the youngster.

We now have antoher twist in the tale from France and it’s an exciting one.

La Voix du Nord has claimed that Liverpool could sign Renato Sanches as early as January.

The paper has detailed the financial struggles facing Lille at the moment, explaining that the club could be forced to cash in on prized assets sooner rather than later.

They cite sales that didn’t go through, claiming a Premier League club was prepared to pay £63m for Sanches over the summer.

Given the financial difficulties the club faces it’s claimed the Portuguese star could move in the winter window.

What RTK has to say

Liverpool signing Renato Sanches would be an exciting move.

The lad is still just 23-years-old and is looking set to finally fulfill his potential.

He has always been full of promise but his move to Bayern came too early in his career.

Snapping him up now could prove to be a bargain signing in the long term.
