Liverpool take on Spurs tonight with the winners guaranteed top spot in the Premier League. The two sides have had strong starts to their season and will be hoping to steal the lead as they wade further into the December quagmire. Thankfully for Jürgen Klopp, Gareth Bale is a major doubt for the Liverpool clash.

Top of the table clash
Over the summer who would’ve guessed that Spurs would be Liverpool’s main rivals going into the New Year?
The Reds have had a rollercoaster ride of a season so far.
There’s been injuries, illnesses, memorable performances and shocking displays.
Yet somehow Jürgen Klopp has still steered the Reds to joint top of the Premier League.
Jose Mourinho’s side are tied with Liverpool at points, the North London club edging the lead on goal difference.
Tonight’s winners will have breathing room at the top.
Gareth Bale doubt for Liverpool tie
The Reds will take any help they can get going into tonight’s tie.
Thankfully they may well have gotten some help in the form of a fitness issue for the visitors.
Gareth Bale is a major doubt for the Liverpool clash tonight.
Jose Mourinho told his pre-match press conference:
“We still have training session this afternoon. Yesterday he didn’t train with the team.
“He trained inside, not even outside. In this moment I’d say not but let’s wait for the feelings and let’s see the training session.”
What RTK has to say
Gareth Bale being unable to face Liverpool tonight is a massive boost for the Reds.
The Welshman is a talismanic performer for the North London side.
He is yet to hit the heights he achieved before he left for Spain but he is always capable of performing in big games.
We saw this when he netted a brace against the Reds in the Champions League final.
