Liverpool rollercoaster ride

The title defence was never going to be easy but we never anticipated it being this hard.

The Reds have seen their entire centre back roster injured this term.

Virgil van Dijk won’t play again this season whilst Joe Gomez would be lucky to.

Joel Matip may just make our next game but his involvement is still up in the air.

We’ve seen world class performances such as the win over Leicester, we’ve seen disasterclasses like the game with Aston Villa.

The hectic schedule and injury list are to blame

Liverpool season to transform in January

December is set to be a slog for the Reds.

The side are going to play a game near enough every three days.

As long as we can get through the month still near the top then we are well placed.

Liverpool will see their season transform in January.

Summer signing Thiago is set to return to the fold in the New Year.

We could also see reinforcements in defence.

At the moment we’re down to just one fit centre back – if we’re lucky.

The return of Thiago and the reinforcing of the defence will ease the burden on the squad and will lift performances.

The first half of the season has been a hectic sequence of fire fights.

The second half should see the Reds more composed and back to their best.

As long as Liverpool are near the top in January then we should see them retain the title.
