Olympiakos defender Ruben Semedo addressed speculation that Liverpool could try to sign him. The Portuguese player certainly sounds interested.
This comes from O Jogo in Portugal. They recently interviewed Ruben Semedo, where the idea of a transfer to Liverpool came up.
“Oh, it’s just tough questions,” Semedo responded. “I heard [about the Liverpool rumours] and it is always good to see my name associated with big clubs.
“We will see what happens in the future.”
Greek outlet Sportime is one who recently reported on Semedo to Liverpool. They claim the Reds have an interest there and the player would cost around £18m.

What RTK has to say
Yes, it’s a pretty generic response. But it’s about as open as players get these days when discussing prospective transfers.
As for how likely it actually is, we’re not sure. But Joel Matip did offer a reminder that he’s not a reliable option at the moment.
Not through his ability, of course, but Matip went off injured once again at the weekend. Liverpool can’t really have their remaining natural centre-half be a player consistently battling for fitness – not during an injury crisis.
That, obviously, increases any chances that Liverpool move for a defender in January.
And looking purely at Semedo as a player and putting his ‘questionable’ past to one side, he fits the right profile.
He’s tall, he’s a solid defender, and he can cover both centre-half and defensive midfield. The latter is particularly ideal, given Fabinho is effectively a centre-half now.
And Semedo is 26 – the perfect age. He’s experienced enough to slot right in but with a few years to develop further at Liverpool.
So we’ll see, just like Semedo. This could end up being a very good deal in January, should Liverpool decide to invest in a new defender.
