Liverpool have been more than unlucky with injuries this term. There’s been a parade of players heading for the treatment table due to a combination of bad luck and reckless scheduling. We’ve suffered another blow this week. The Diogo Jota injury could help Takumi Minamino hit his best Liverpool form.

Diogo Jota injury blow
Liverpool just can’t catch a break at the moment.
The Reds have lost their two starting centre backs for the rest of the season.
The goalkeeper is only just coming back, as is the starting right back.
We’ve only seen glimpses of Thiago since his switch from Bayern in the summer.
Now £41m signing Diogo Jota is also facing a lengthy spell out.
According to Record in Portugal the forward picked up a knee injury against FC Midtjylland which will keep him out for around two months.
Takumi Minamino could step up
Diogo Jota could miss up to 13 games if he is indeed to be out for two months.
The Portuguese star has been a standout performer this term, playing everywhere across the front three.
His absence could open the door for Takumi Minamino to step up.
The Japan international was most lethal for Red Bull Salzburg when deployed as an advanced midfielder.
He could take on a similar role in the absence of Jota.
The injured forward has popped up everywhere in the attacking line, a free roaming role which would benefit Takumi Minamino.
The Japan star hasn’t quite hit the heights expected of him yet but a run in the side in his preferred position could do wonders for his game.
