Liverpool had an awful time in Denmark this week. Well, we had an awful time watching them at least. We love the Reds, of course, as much as the next guy, but last night was like watching paint dry. There were a few momentus takeaways from the game, though. One was the armband. Rio Ferdinand heaped praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold after he captained the Reds against Midtjylland.

Liverpool drab draw
On Wednesday night Liverpool turned up in Jutland knowing that the game was of no consequence.
As ever when the pressure is off, the Reds put in a drab performance.
Seriously, this side’s toxic trait is the inability to string two passes together unless there are points on the line.
A heavily rotated side put in a disjointed display as the Reds walked to a 1-1 draw in Denmark.
There were debuts for Leighton Clarkson and Billy Koumetio.
The big story of the night was Trent Alexander-Arnold captaining the side.
Rio Ferdinand on Trent Alexander-Arnold
Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Man United legend was raving over the 22-year-old’s potential, discussing how far the youngster can go in the game:
“I think more than anything, he’s an impressive young man.
“Very intelligent, knows exactly what he wants to do, wants to achieve, living the dream at his boyhood club. The world’s his oyster.
“We were talking about it before, Champions League final at 19 years old, looking like he’d been there and done that years before.
“He has some valuable experience in these early years in his career. Who knows what he’s going to go on to achieve given the team he’s in?”
What RTK has to say
Rio Ferdinand is a real fan of Trent Alexander-Arnold, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the United legend raving over the Scouser.
He is right: just how far can the youngster go?
Trent could go down as the best right back the game has ever seen.
The 22-year-old has a decade or so left in the game, think of how his game could develop in that time. Imagine what he could win.
