Liverpool have a big transfer window ahead of them. The Reds are down a number of first team stars after a hectic schedule has caused a string of injuries. Jürgen Klopp will be considering reinforcements. Speaking exclusively to Rousing the Kop, Emile Heskey has talked Liverpool transfer plans.

Liverpool injuries
The Reds have been ravaged by injuries this season.
Jürgen Klopp has lost well over a dozen players to illness and injury.
The hectic fixture schedule has played a large part, as has plain rotten luck.
Two reckless tackles in the Merseyside Derby have robbed the Reds of a pair of key stars – Virgil van Dijk won’t play again this term.
Whilst Joe Gomez is a doubt for the remainder of the season.
As it stands four of Klopp’s starting back five are out injured.
Joel Matip is the last centre back standing and many believe Liverpool will be active in the coming transfer window as a result.
Emile Heskey on Liverpool transfer plans
We spoke to Emile Heskey about whether Liverpool will be active in the coming window.
Speaking exclusively to Rousing the Kop, the England icon told us:
“I think there is a need to strengthen, not necessarily for the first team but the backup needs strengthening
“When you need to call on backup it needs to be of a certain calibre so that you still have the chance of performing at a very high level
“I think that’s where he’s probably looking at now.”
What RTK has to say
Emile Heskey is right in that Liverpool need to be active in the transfer window but they needn’t go gung ho.
The Reds could do with a couple more backup stars.
A defender who can develop over the years in Virgil van Dijk’s shadow for instance.
We could also maybe do with another wide forward given the poor form Divock Origi has shown.
