Alisson injury

Liverpool will be without their first choice keeper for the next week at least.

Alisson was ruled out of the Reds’ clash with Ajax this week with a hamstring injury and he isn’t expected back in time for Sunday.

Jürgen Klopp surprised us all by selecting Caoimhin Kelleher in goal for the Champions League tie.

Adrian has been serving as number two for the past season and a bit and with some success.

The decision was a massive opportunity for and show of faith in the youngster.

Kelleher shines against Ajax

Caoimhin Kelleher was the star of the show against Ajax.

The 22-year-old keeper put in a superlative performance against the Dutch champions.

He refused to be overawed by the occasion, pulling off smart saves and distributing the ball efficiently.

Given the strength of the opposition and some of the shots he faced it was a valiant effort to earn a clean sheet on his Champions League debut.

Kelleher has to start against Wolves

This week saw a superb European debut for the Reds’ young keeper.

Caoimhin Kelleher did more than enough to keep his place against Wolves this weekend.

The youngster should be our go to deputy for the foreseeable future.

Adrian has had plenty of chances and he has often disappointed – sure he’s made some smart stops but he’s also made some costly errors.

The Irishman now looks the more reliable of the pair.

It would be criminal to drop Kelleher after his midweek performance.
