Liverpool have had some superlative centre backs at the club down the years. Right now we are lucky to be watching one of the greatest the club has ever seen. However, few have embodied the classic blood and thunder style then a recently retired defender turned author. Alex Scott aimed a funny on screen jab at Jamie Carragher this week after downloading his new book.
Alex Scott bio
Alex Scott is a legend of the women’s game.
The 36-year-old retired right back had two spells at Arsenal as well as time at Birmingham City and a stint in the USA.
When Scott retired from international football in 2017 she did so as the second most capped player in the side’s history with 140 appearances.
Since then she has forged a successful media career.
Scott is regarded by many as one of the most insightful pundits around and we hope to be seeing a lot more from her in future.
Alex Scott on Jamie Carragher
Speaking after PSG’s win over Man United this week, Alex Scott took a playful swipe at Jamie Carragher.
The ex-Arsenal star was asked for her prediction for United’s Champions League hopes – she tipped the Red Devils to scrape through.
However, before she went off air Alex Scott passed comment on Jamie Carragher and his new book.
The 36-year-old pointed out that the Scouser didn’t voice the audiobook for his own work.
Carra defended the choice by saying why would he with such a thick Scouse accent.
What RTK has to say
I am definitely expecting this book as a stocking filler.
The Scouser’s new work details some of the biggest games in history, providing tactical insight.
The fact that he hasn’t voiced the audiobook is understandable for obvious reasons.
It is great, however, to see Alex Scott really coming into her own as a presenter, she has a really bright future in the industry.
