Liverpool fans couldn’t help but react as Harvey Elliott bagged a superb goal for Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday evening.
The teenager came on to the ball up just inside the corner of the box and curled a first-time left-footed effort into the top corner.
It was sheer brilliance and the Rovers Twitter account immediately called it ‘sensational’.

Fans are understandably excited about Elliott. He’s a 17-year-old shining in his first full senior season, after all.
The winger has two goals and three assists in the Championship – not numbers that tear up the league but really encouraging for this stage of his career.
Everyone will keep eyes on Elliott, then, to see if he can quickly become an option for Liverpool.
If he keeps scoring goals like this, though, Jurgen Klopp will surely want him back at Anfield before long. He really is starting to look like Mohamed Salah’s long-term successor.
