Liverpool secured a place in the knockout phases tonight with a well deserved win over the Dutch champions. It was yet another impressive performance from Jürgen Klopp’s men as they fought for a 1-0 victory. Here are our Liverpool player ratings against Ajax in the Champions League tonight:

Caoimhin Kelleher – 9
The youngster stepped in and stepped up, it was an impressive performance under pressure, pulling off some impressive saves.
Neco Williams – 9
The Welshman had an excellent game, the second half was particularly impressive and he deserved his assist.
Fabinho – 8
The Brazilian is one of the best defenders in the world and he showed why tonight.
Joel Matip – 7
The Cameroonian didn’t have a tremendous amount to do but he did well overall.
Andy Robertson – 7
Andy Robbo, published author, was energetic as usual despite an injury scare. He could have had a bag full of assists on another day.
Curtis Jones – 9
The Scouser was tremendous yet again, he is pushing to be a regular starter. His goal was thoroughly deserved.
Gini Wijnaldum – 7
The Dutchman can frustrate at times but he is consistent. Some of his passes were immense, sometimes he was too safe.
Jordan Henderson – 7
The skipper was running the show as usual, keeping intensity high and hounding opposition.
Mo Salah – 7
The Egyptian was a livewire but there were too many heavy touches at vital times. He should have scored given the chances he had.
Sadio Mane – 8
Energetic as ever and unlucky not to score, another top performance from Sadio. He’ll definitely score soon, he’s certainly due one.
Diogo Jota – 7
The Portuguese star was always trying to make things happen and he was unlucky that it didn’t come off. Another impressive showing overall.
